Are You Lucky?
What is Luck?
Most people are not looking to enter into wedded bliss at year's end but there is still some interest in particular lucky wedding dates. Why?
We are hard wired to look for patterns and to make inferences when we think we see them.
And so we look for meaning in the meaningless. We see faces on the surface of Mars or on tree bark or on buttered toast.
We all know on some level that everything that is can be described by mathematics. It is natural for those who know of math but maybe not much about it to think that if they could just find the right series of numbers all would be revealed. The world would be like a safe with
a special combination that we the fortunate ones stumbled upon because we are lucky!
Numbers Rule!
If you look into numerology you will find that are are reputed to be master numbers and special numbers and auspicious numbers
If you believe in the collective unconscious then there is at least one more reason to think that a particular date might have more significance than other dates. It is significant precisely because everyone is thinking about it. If you are reading this then even now you are thinking about 12_13_14! And so it is the power of perception and the energy and focus of thought that makes the number have meaning. It means something because people want it to. Now if only we could tap into that desire and make it flesh. Maybe we could manifest our hopes with the energy of others.
121314 maybe not be enough or it maybe too much. If we were wasting, and yes I do mean wasting a dollar on the lottery then the number is too big. And for many lottery games 12, 13, 14 are not enough numbers.
By the way, it is said that the lottery is a tax on the stupid. You are about as likely to get struck by lightning or hit by a meteor as you are to win the lottery. You are far more likely to get into a car accident or slip in the top or have a kitchen disaster but you don't want to think about that.
Having said that, I see no harm in wasting a dollar a week on the lottery. If you spend more than that you may need to seek professional help. Don't take bread out of your children's mouths to gamble. Yes, it is gambling. It is a game of chance played for money.
Safe Gambling
Now that the lecture is over, if you promise not to spend the rent check, we can talk about generating more lucky numbers.
Out of 121314, we can get, 41, 31, 21, or 23, 24, or 43, 42 or 34 and 32. That should be enough for any legitimate gambling. Remember, you promised to do no more than a dollar per day.
In fact, you can play the numbers for no money, nothing, nada, zilch, bumpkiss, zero.
There is the PCH Lotto for instance. Just go to Publisher's Clearing House websites and play their games. Don't waste all day on it but you could win money without spending a dime. Yeah they want you to buy something but they can't make you buy anything.
There are other free lotteries and games of chance online so Google or if you want to earn money for searching, Bing them. Never give your credit card number. Never give you bank account number. For the free online gambling never give anything of any value. If they demand money for playing their games you are in the wrong place. Get out! PCH has plenty of games you can play for a chance to win money and you never have to buy their magazines or stuff so it's all free! But they give away millions so it's a perfect way to "gamble" and an even more perfect way to waste time!!!
Try Your UnLuck
If you lived in country where the number "4" sounded like death then you might be able to get everyone in the country to give the the 4 in all things for free. As long as 4 comes up you might be persuaded to take it off their hands. And in fact, if they have a lottery you could be persuaded to bet 4, 14, 24, 34, 44, 54, 64, 74, 84, 94, and even 104. And with so many fours, if you won, you would not have to split the lottery. You could keep it all to yourself. By the way, I believe that the number 4 sounds like the word for "death" in Chinese so you might want to check that one out.
