Teenage Mutant Ninja Rainbows
Linear Rainbow
It begins with a prism. From the way a prism divides up white light you can see that not all rainbows are bowed like the back of Atlas as he bears up the earth or golden arches like the ones at McDonald's. Some rainbows are linear. So the first mutant rainbow is a linear rainbow.
Displaying my rainbow art in this way I do notice some things. For instance, the way the yellow and orange work together has and interesting effect. When I get back to linear rainbows I will try to see if I can spread that effect to the other colors.
Black Rainbow
For our next rainbow we fade to black beginning at gray. Giving a dark rainbow effect.
Sometimes I call it a gray rainbow depending on my mood.
White Rainbow
And then there is the white rainbow. Mostly because I'll bet you didn't see that one coming.
Yellow Rainbow
I suppose this one could be called the Yellow and Gray rainbow.
The bands of color do have a kind of infinite horizon effect that can invoke the since of distance in the direction of an increasing number of bands of color.
Cyber Rainbow
Not quite sure what to make of this pattern sometimes I call it cyber rainbow. Other times I refer to it as a digital rainbow or and abstract rainbow.
Rainbow Arc
I am not averse to throwing in something now again that actually bears a passing resemblance to the atmospheric phenomenon we call a rainbow.
Liberties With License
I have been know to take liberties with my license to manufacture rainbows. So here is a mutant rainbow.
Rainbow Bridge
You know Asgard, that place Thor hangs out. Well the path to other realms is Bifrost the rainbow bridge. Imagine a thing all sparkly and made of rainbows.
Bifrost
Star Shower
I actually think of this one as more of a star shower from a rainbow sun than an actual mutant rainbow.
Hidden Rainbows
Some of my work has little bits or smudges of stuff scattered around here and there. And sometimes when I train my mathematical microscope on one the funny bits I find some sort of rainbow tableau at the heart of the all.
Rainbow Laser Beams
What did that guy say: Sharks with laser beams? Well imagine warp, twisted, lethal rainbows. With laser beams!
Rainbow Ring
Ring around the rainbow.
Wringing colors out wet rainbows.
Rainbow rings.
Rainbow Matrix
There is the notion that you can ask what something would look like if it were changed, warped altered. A generalized mathematical way of saying this is that we generate a transformation matrix and apply to a construct and then we say things about whether the transformation changes or leaves constant things such as length, angles and distance.
And so we can take a rainbow which arises at one place on the earth or in the sky and then arrives at another and we can ask, what if we made a rainbow that radiated from the center of something like a light does from a pinpoint source. We might get something that could look like a rainbow sphere or a rainbow disk.
We could do other things to mutate our rainbow. We could modulate the rainbow velocity. Which is to say we could change the speed and direction of the color changes. We could make change the timing of the color changes so that some intervals are shorter or longer. In this way could arrive at differing numbers of rainbow stripes on a rainbow disk.
